Patient Resources

The resources below are intended to support patients, prospective patients, and their families as they engage with Thornridge's services.

New Patient Information

Beginning care at Thornridge starts with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. This typically requires 60 to 90 minutes and includes a discussion of your current concerns, your medical and mental health history, and your goals for treatment. Please bring a list of current medications and, if available, any prior psychiatric records you would like shared with our team.

What to Expect

Care at Thornridge is collaborative. Your provider will work with you to develop an initial treatment plan, which may include ongoing therapy, medication, and participation in our programs. Treatment plans are reviewed regularly and updated as your needs change.

Insurance and Payment

Thornridge accepts most major commercial insurance plans, Medicare, and Medicaid. Our billing office can verify insurance coverage and discuss payment options before your first visit. Self-pay and sliding-scale options are available for qualifying patients.

Requesting Records

Current and former patients have the right to request copies of their clinical records. Records requests must be made in writing and processed through our Records Department. Please visit our Patient Records Request page for instructions.

Patient Rights

All Thornridge patients have the right to:

  • Be treated with dignity and respect.
  • Receive information about their diagnosis, treatment options, and expected outcomes.
  • Participate in decisions about their care.
  • Refuse any treatment, understanding the possible consequences.
  • Access their medical records.
  • File a complaint without fear of retaliation.
  • Receive care regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or disability.

Filing a Complaint with State Regulators

Patients and family members who wish to file a complaint about the care provided at Thornridge, or about any licensed psychiatric facility in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, may do so through the Pennsylvania Bureau of Psychiatric Facility Review (BPFR). BPFR accepts complaints in writing and by telephone and maintains confidentiality for complainants to the extent permitted by law.
